8. If your carpet is wet from cleaning do not walk on it, until dry, to avoid resoiling. Wetness can cause varnish, paint and lacquer transfer from wooden furniture and metal legs can rust and discolor the carpet.
9. Eliminate harsh chemicals, detergents and other popular household cleaners on your carpet that will damage them in the end.
10. When the spill is completely removed, rinse the area with cold water; blot with a dry cloth until all moisture is removed.
